Radiant Light Manifesting Life

“Since light is the basic physical manifestation of life, bathing all creation in its radiance, it is highly important to realize, in part at least, the subtle nature of this divine substance. That which is called light is actually a rate of vibration causing certain reactions upon the optic nerve. Few realize how they are waled in by the limitations of the sense perceptions. Not only is there a great deal more to light than anyone has ever seen but there are also unknown forms of light which no optical equipment will ever register. … Man is thus surrounded by a supersensible universe of which he knows nothing because the centers of sense perception within himself have not been developed sufficiently to respond to the subtler rates of vibration of which that universe is composed.

“Among both civilized and savage peoples color has been accepted as a natural language in which to couch their religious and philosophical doctrines. The ancient city of Ecbatana as described by Herodotus, its seven walls colored according to the seven planets, revealed the knowledge of this subject possessed by the Persian Magi. The famous zikkurat or astronomical tower of the god Nebo at Borsippa ascended in seven great steps or stages, each step being painted in the key color of one of the planetary bodies. It is thus evident that the Babylonians were familiar with the concept of the spectrum in its relation to the seven Creative Gods or Powers.” ~Manly P. Hall

Radiant Light

In recent decades, we have learned that light is a far more important thing than we thought it was. This is primarily due to the discovery by Quantum Physicists that the entire universe of matter is actually a hologram made of light. Your car, your house, the ground you walk on is nothing but light. Your physical self is made of light. We sense this world of light with senses that are themselves made of light. Our different senses are not truly sensing different things, but different frequencies of light. So it should not be a surprise that the first step in creating this dimension of matter was to say, “Let there be light”. Continue reading “Radiant Light Manifesting Life”

incorruptible

Incorruptible and Irresistible Light of God

“The son appeared, informing them of the father, the illimitable one. He inspired them with that which is in the mind, while doing his will. Many received the light and turned toward him. But material people were alien to him and did not discern his appearance nor recognize him. For he came in the likeness of flesh and nothing blocked his way because what is incorruptible is irresistible. Moreover, while saying new things, speaking about what is in the heart of the father, he proclaimed the faultless word. Light spoke through his mouth, and his voice brought forth life. He gave them thought and understanding and mercy and salvation, and the spirit of strength derived from the infinity and sweetness of the father. He caused punishments and scourging to cease, for it was they that caused many in need of mercy to stray from him in error and in chains—and he mightily destroyed them and derided them with knowledge. He became a path for those who went astray and knowledge for those who were ignorant, a discovery for those who sought, and a support for those who tremble, a purity for those who were defiled.” ~Gospel of Truth

The Son Appeared

The son appeared to inform man about the Father. But didn’t man already know about the Father? Were not the Jews and others in those days religious people? Yes, they were, but they didn’t know the true God of Spirit which Jesus called Father. They believed in war gods, jealous gods, gods of materialism. In short, their god was the Demiurge, the false god that created, through error, the physical universe.

Many Received the Light

The light that was received from the son could have been simple intellectual knowledge or spiritual light that awakens the soul. I think both are meant here. Jesus informed the people of their errors regarding how to worship, pray, and develop their spiritual faculties. He also served as a channel for the spiritual light letting it flow through him to others who were ready for it and could use it to help awaken their own spiritual faculties. This light is incorruptible and irresistible. The opinions or desires of men cannot alter it. Even the demons and forces of darkness cannot alter it, they can only hide it from us. hidden spring

Hidden Spring of Eternal Life

“While you perceive nothing sensible, or apparent, in your religious state, there is, at the same time, evidence to others of a hidden spring of life within your soul. God does no give you the sweet rain which, falling, clothes all the surface of the soul with verdure, but he gives you the deep wellspring, by which means means you live and flourish, and produce, not herbs and flowers, which are born and die in the same day, but substantial fruits, ripening for eternity. David said, the life of man upon this earth is as grass, which groweth up in the morning and withers in the evening. This refers to the natural life, but is also true of the selfish life of man. It flourishes in the morning of the spiritual life, but the sooner does the sun of righteousness arise in his warmth, than this life withers and is cut down. The righteous are as a tree planted by the rivers of water, whose leaf is always green. This is because the roots are well watered by the deep flowing current.” ~Madam Guyon

Hidden Spring of Life

Many names have been given to this flow over the centuries. The hidden spring, the water of life, and the fountain of youth are the best known of them. They all refer to the same thing. That thing is the flow of spiritual light that awakens the spirit and soul of man. It is also called Grace for that reason. This is the spring that flows everywhere. Nothing can stop it. It is the water that flows from a rock in the middle of a desert. It is the fountain that brings life to a seemingly dead spirit and soul. You cannot hide from it, but why should you?

Hiding from the Hidden Spring

Fools have tried to block out this light with ideas like turning the open temples of the ancient orders of Mystics and Gnostics into the dark caves with the painted-over windows of many churches. We in Cosolargy may be the only Christian organization left that has open-air churches where the light of the hidden spring is welcomed and encouraged. But the methods of the large, state-approved churches have worked to some degree in the past. But now is a new age and the Sun of Righteousness shines upon us. This is the most powerful spiritual sun ever, so it is harder than ever to hide from it. And those who try, do so at their peril. Those who refuse to adapt to this new age of the Sun of Righteousness will die trying to avoid it as the world they know will cease to exist. Continue reading “Hidden Spring of Eternal Life”

burn that heals

Burn That Heals and Awakens the Spirit

“Thus sang the initiates of Dionysus:

‘O burn that burns to heal!
O more than pleasant wound!
And O soft hand,
O touch most delicate that dost new life reveal
That dost in grace abound
And, slaying, dost from death to life translate.’

“Here the joy is as passionate, the consciousness of an exalted life as intense: but it is dominated by the distinctive Christian concepts of humility, surrender, and intimate love.

“We have seen that all real artists, as well as all pure mystics, are sharers to some degree in the Illuminated Life. They have drunk, with Blake, from that cup of intellectual vision which is the chalice of the spirit of life. Know something of its divine inebriation whenever beauty inspires them to create. Some have only sipped it. Other, like John of Parma, have drunk deep, accepting in that act the mystic heritage with all its obligations. But to all who have seen beauty face to face, the Grail has been administered; and through that sacramental communion they are made participants to the mystery of the world.” ~Evelyn Underhill

Burn that Heals

Sometimes, the medicine that cures an illness seems almost as bad as the illness itself. Although that may not be as true today as it was when I was a kid. I remember getting dosed frequently with the horrid cod liver oil when I was young. And it didn’t come in a convenient capsule you could just swallow like the fish oil capsules of today. You had to take it by the spoon and taste it. Sometimes you told your mother you were feeling must better just to prevent her from giving you another dose.

The burn that heals is a lot like that bitter medicine. It doesn’t literally burn, but it makes you face the truth about yourself and your past. Burn one: you learned that things were not always as they seemed to be. Burn two: you learned that some of you closest beliefs that you clung to for years are completely false. Burn, burn, burn.

“I fell into a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down and the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire, the ring of fire” ~Merle Kilgore, June Carter

June Carter wrote of a burning ring of fire which her future husband, Johnny Cash, made into a hit song. Carter was supposedly writing about her love for Cash. So here is another example of a burn that heals: a burning love. But that isn’t exactly what Underhill is talking about. Even if she didn’t realize it herself, the burn that heals by making the material become spiritual is the spiritual sun, or Sun of Righteousness. This sun is sending special frequencies into us that are helping us awaken. The prophet Malachi wrote that this sun would burn up the evil in the world. That is the best kind of burn that heals.

Grace Abounds

The Burn that heals burns away the veil or shell that blocks us from receiving grace. Grace meaning the higher frequency light of the spiritual sun that awakens the spirit and soul and helps them grow strong. This is real grace. Yes, it is God blessing you. But it is also God healing you.

Death to Life

How does the burn that heals bring life to death? To be totally accurate, it doesn’t. What it does do is awaken the dormant spiritual faculties. When those faculties are dormant, they are as good as dead, so awakening them is much like bringing the dead back to life. And while there may have been one or two cases of Jesus actually bringing a physically dead person back to life, in most cases it is this bringing the “dead” spirit and soul back to life that He did.

Mystic Heritage

The ancient mystics and students of the mystery schools were the true students of spiritual development. They knew the burn that heals very well. They did not just, in arrogance, declare themselves to be spiritual and awakened. They worked hard to make it happen.

Times have changed, however, and devoting one’s life completely to the spiritual development of the true Self, and aiding others to do the same, is not necessary or practical. Until a few centuries ago, those who devoted themselves to the spiritual were happily supported by the communities they lived in. Today, that rarely happens. In North America and Europe, even the long-established churches are struggling to maintain their membership while fighting off attempts to take away their tax-free status or put them under greater government control. At this point in time, the materialists are winning this battle, but not for much longer.

But it is still possible to follow the mystic heritage and partake of the spiritual light with the burn that heals. We can do it while still holding a regular job, having a family, and living in a private house. It isn’t necessary to enter a monastery. It is, however, still necessary to go beyond the superficial spirituality of meditating and owning crystals to make any real progress. The burn that heals needs to burn deep.
