God within

God Within Our Spirits and Souls

“God sees the dwelling and the resting place which He has made within us and through us; namely, the unity and the likeness. And He wills to visit this unity without interruption, with a new coming of His most high birth and with a rich pouring forth of his fathomless love; for he wills to dwell in bliss within the loving spirit. And He wills to visit the likeness of our spirit with rich gifts, so that we become more like unto Him and more enlightened in the virtues. Now it is Christ’s will that we should dwell and abide within the essential unity of our spirit, rich with Zhim above all creaturely works and above all virtues; and that we should dwell actively to that same unity, rich and fulfilled with virtues and heavenly gifts. And He wills that we shall visit that unity and that likeness without interruption, by means of every work which we do; for in every new ‘Now,’ God is born in us, and from this most high birth the Holy Ghost flows forth with all His gifts. Therefore we should go out to meet the gifts of God through the likeness and the most high birth, through the unity.” ~John of Ruysbroeck

God Within Us

The dwelling place and resting place that God has created within us is, of course, the Divine Soul. Ruysbroeck calls it “the unity and the likeness.” Both of those terms describe the human soul and nothing else within us. The soul is part of the Unity because it is spirit, not matter. Because it is spirit, it occupies all space, all time, and is, therefore, part of the Unity. If all spirits occupy all space and all time—and they do—then they must all be part of the Unity. Likewise, being spirit, the soul is the part of us that has the likeness of God because God is also pure spirit. Don’t look for God to have a body similar to ours, because he doesn’t. It is the Divine Soul that is created in His “image and likeness”.

Visit the Unity

I think this may be a mistake in wording or mistranslation of what Ruysbroeck said, or at least meant. I don’t think God wills to visit the unity, He is the unity! God within wills for us to join the unity. Our Divine Souls come from the Unity and are always part of the unity, but if we let them stay dormant within us, we are disconnected from the unity. So the key to visiting the Unity is to awaken our soul from its dormant state. We do that with the light from the Spiritual Sun. God within us is in the soul, not the body. Cayce cosmology

Cayce Cosmology and the Purpose of Life

“SHM: Tell me, Mr. Todeschi, what is the nature of reality as revealed by the Cayce readings?

“KJT: Well, in a nutshell, what I call the Cayce cosmology is that we are here in the earth to essentially bring spirit into the third dimension. I mean, it’s not that somehow we just came into the earth and our job is to get back to heaven. From the Cayce perspective, our job is to bring the spirituality of God into the earth and transform it in the process by growing and expanding ourselves. Cayce often pointed out that Jesus was really the embodiment of what every soul’s destiny was, not that every soul need to become a Christian, because Jesus wasn’t a Christian. He was Jewish. But instead, that every soul needed to perfectly manifest the divinity of God in the earth, which is what Jesus did. And that is our destiny.

“SHM: So, there is a purpose to life, and it is to become like Jesus, to serve?

“KJT: To become like Jesus, to somehow become aware of yourself, and to manifest what Cayce called the ‘Christ Consciousness’ in the earth in service toward other people, to become all that you have as potential within your being, and to become aware of your relationship to God and to all others, during that process.” ~Stephen Hawley Martin in “Edgar Cayce, The Meaning of Life and What to Do About It”

Edgar Cayce Cosmology

Mr. Todeschi was the head of A. R. E., the Edgar Cayce research association, at the time of the interview quoted above. Keep in mind that what he says was the cosmology of Cayce is his interpretation of it. What Cayce actually believed may be slightly different.

Martin asks, “What is the nature of reality?” This is a very wide-open question that one can take many ways. Todeschi answers as if the question was, “Why are we here on Earth?”

According to Todeschi, Cayce believed that we are on earth to bring to “bring spirit into the third dimension.” That statement seems to me to imply that there is no spirit here already. That is not the case. There is and always has been spirits on Earth. In the very early days, at least according to some spiritual teachers, Man was far less dense then he is now, and could probably have been said to be more spirit than matter. But over the ages, we sank deeper and deeper into matter. Now there is not much spirit left, but there is some. Whether we were sent here to specifically bring more spirit is debatable, but there is little doubt that as we are here, we need to do that. It is God’s Plan to transform the planet and the entire universe of matter back into spirit from which it descended in the event called the Great Fall. We are to aid God in this effort by first transforming ourselves as much as is possible while still living in the third dimension of matter, second, help others to do the same, and raise the vibrations and consciousness of the whole planet. This takes a great deal of energy, especially spiritual energy, which we take in from the Spiritual Sun. Continue reading “Cayce Cosmology and the Purpose of Life”

mighty wisdom

Mighty Wisdom and the Golden Age

“Wisdom reacheth from one end to another mightily: and sweetly doth she order all things. I loved her, and sought her out from my youth, I desired to make her my spouse, and I was a lover of her beauty. In that she is conversant with God, she magnifieth her nobility: yea, the Lord of all things himself loved her. For she is privy to the mysteries of the knowledge of God, and a lover of his works. If riches be a possession to be desired in this life; what is richer than wisdom, that worketh all things? … If a man desire much experience, she knoweth things of old, and conjectureth aright what is to come: she knoweth the subtleties of speeches, and can expound dark sentences: she foreseeth signs and wonders, and the events of seasons and times. … For her sake I shall have estimation among the multitude, and honour with the elders, though I be young. … I shall set the people in order, and the nations shall be subject unto me. Horrible tyrants shall be afraid, when they do but hear of me; I shall be found good among the multitude, and valiant in war. After I am come into mine house, I will repose myself with her: for her conversation hath no bitterness; and to live with her hath no sorrow, but mirth and joy. Now when I considered these things in myself, and pondered them in my heart,” ~The Wisdom of Solomon

Mighty Wisdom

Wisdom is mighty because with wisdom, we can conquer all adversaries and adversities. Wisdom does give order to all things. In other words, things that seem strange, unpredictable, or unreasonable, make perfect sense when one has wisdom. Mighty wisdom turns apparent chaos into order that cannot be seen when looking only at the material side of life. Wisdom looks at the whole picture on the levels of matter, psychic, and spiritual laws and rules. By seeing the whole picture, order becomes obvious.

Knowledge of God

Wisdom has knowledge of God, the things of God, and the power of God. That is mighty wisdom indeed. There can be no greater wisdom or knowledge than that. You might not think that knowledge of God matters, but it does nonetheless. Even when you are trapped on the material plane of existence, so close to Hell you can smell it, Godly knowledge and wisdom can benefit you. When you have that mighty wisdom, you need not fear making a decision about anything because your decision will be the right one. You need not fear the consequences of making a decision that others won’t like, because wisdom will reveal to you how that problem can be avoided or dealt with. And you need not feel trapped in your little corner of the Earth, because Mighty Wisdom reveals the entire universe to you in a way that makes it seem as if you have been everywhere, done everything because, in a way, you have. do not believe

Do Not Believe Everything You Hear or See

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found in writing in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.” ~Quotes of Wisdom – 99 Buddha’s Quotes by Raja Vishuoadi

Do Not Believe What You Hear

Thee are several reasons to not believe something simply because you heard someone say it. Have you ever walked into a room where some people are having a conversation? You try to guess what it is about when you have heard only a small part of it. Later, you find out your guess was completely wrong. Or did you ever try the exercise in school where the teacher whispers something to the person in the front of the room, who then turns and repeats it to the person behind them until it reaches that last person? If you have, you know that what the last person heard is very different from what the teacher said. This happens even when you know what the exercise is about and make a concerted effort to be accurate. But the biggest reason is that just because people are saying something doesn’t make it true or right. Rumors often spread faster than truth, and with more believers. As the quote says, simply because many are talking about a thing doesn’t make it true. Then, of course, there are those things that are true but are none of our business. We love to gossip about others and look down on others, at least a majority of us, but it is unwise. We neither improve ourselves or others by gossiping about them.

Do Not believe what You See

We also know that the eyes can be tricked so just because we see something doesn’t make it true. One of my favorite examples of this is the works of street art that make it appear as if there is a great hole in the sidewalk, or a monster crawling out of the ground. It is all illusion, none of it is real. The pat so few of us understand is that even those things that are not intentional illusion nevertheless are. Virtually nothing in the material world is what it appears to be. This is backed by the science of Quantum Physics which teaches that the entire physical universe is but a hologram.

Do Not Believe in Traditions

If you have never watched the movie, Fiddler on the Roof, you should make the effort to do so. It is more than a musical about a poor Russian Jew and his family. It is a tale of a man who lives by tradition and when his daughters and friends start to bend and even break those traditions he has a hard time adjusting.

We may not call them traditions, but we all have beliefs that we got from our parents who got them from our grandparents and on back possibly several more generations. These beliefs may have been true at one time, but no longer are. Others never were true, but we have stuck with them anyway. We need to question them all. We need to be open to proof that what we believe is simply not true. Atheists cannot find any proof of God no matter where they look. It is not because the evidence doesn’t exist, but because their beliefs don’t allow them to see the evidence. If you do not believe it, you will not see it.

Do Not Believe Teachers

This is especially true of materialistic teachers. But even with spiritual teachers, we should only believe so much. If they try to tell you in detail everything that you will find in the spiritual realms once you have truly awakened your spirit and soul, they should not be listened to. These are things that no person, no matter how enlightened, can tell you. You must learn them from experience. The job of the spiritual teacher or guru is to teach you how to awaken your spiritual faculties and how to protect yourselves from the demons that are likely to be after you when you do. What your awakened soul sees in those realms should be open to your own experiences. And any firm beliefs you hold about them in advance will block you from seeing spiritual things as they truly are.

Do Not Believe Others

In summary, we should not believe the experiences of others, particularly in spiritual matters. We can accept that they had those experiences, but that doesn’t mean we will have the same experiences. We have to stay open-minded when approaching the spiritual and gain knowledge and wisdom for ourselves, not from others.
