divine plan

Divine Plan For Earth and Us

“We all work in one effort, some willingly and with a rational apprehension of what we do; others without any such knowledge. As I think Heraclitus in a place speaketh of them that sleep, that even they do work in their kind, and do confer to the general operations of the world. One man therefore doth cooperate after one sort, and another after another sort; but even he that doth murmur, and to his power doth resist and hinder; even he as much as any doth cooperate. For of such also did the world stand in need. Now do thou consider among which of these thou wilt rank thyself. For as for him who is the Administrator of all, he will make good use of thee whether thou wilt or no, and make thee (as a part and member of the whole) so to cooperate with Him, that whatsoever thou doest, shall turn to the furtherance of his own counsels, and resolutions. But be not thou for shame such a part of the whole, as that vile and ridiculous verse (which Chrysippus in a place doth mention) is a part of the comedy.” ~Marcus Aurelius

We all Work on the Divine Plan

There are many in this world who don’t believe in God. Others believe in God, but do not believe in a Divine Plan. Yet, Aurelius says, we all contribute to the plan in one way or another. The way I see it, we can generally categorize people into three groups in relation to the Plan:

  • Those who work to help fulfill the plan actively and consciously
  • People who work toward the Plan without any conscious intent
  • Those who work mostly against the plan, with or without intent

Let’s take a look at each of these.

Neutral Helpers

The neutral people neither oppose the Great Plan nor particularly believe in it. Yet they often do things that help that plan. These are the go-with-the-flow type of people. They do not resist, but they do not actively help. Sometimes, however, they can be of great service. When that happens, Beings of Light may whisper into their ears (allegorically speaking), and get them to do what needs to be done to further the plan. Most of the time, they do not directly contribute, and may even hinder in a mild way.

Opponents of the Plan

These people are working against the Plan in many ways. Some do so with intent. Most do it simply because they don’t believe in God or a Divine Plan. But Aurelius says even they contribute to the plan. This is true, though it is unintentional.

One of the primary ways in which they contribute is by resisting those who actively seek to fulfill the Plan. Within certain limits, this actually helps the Plan. We grow stronger by having to push against resistance. We gain more courage and confidence when we overcome obstacles. By acting as human obstacles, these people actually help those of us who are trying to help the Plan.

But while these people aid the plan by helping us grow stronger and better able to resist the forces of darkness, they often do more harm than good because of their active resistance to the Plan.

Active Participants

Those who actively seek to aid God’s Plan are naturally the most useful. Very often, though, they lack the physical and mental strength to be effective. That is when some of the opponents are put in their way. The are made stronger and braver by overcoming the resistance.

The first thing every active participant must do is awaken his spiritual faculties. Without a truly awakened and conscious soul, we can’t even know exactly what the Divine Plan is.

God’s Divine Plan

While all the details of the Divine Plan are known only to God, the general idea is known to many. That general idea is the transformation of the dimension of matter back into spirit. God created spirit and only spirit. In His Kingdom, there is no death, no disease, no struggle to survive. All beings in the spiritual dimensions work for the good of all. They simply know that to do otherwise would be stupid.

Earth and all beings on it are currently part of the fallen realm of matter. This is not a creation of God. This is not anything God wanted. It is the fallen world created by the fallen angels, known as the Demiurge in Gnostic teachings. Because it was created by the fallen angels, it is defective, deformed. It has death, disease, storms, and all kinds of destructive forces. These things don’t exist in God’s kingdom. God is not punishing us by putting us in such a place. We are here because we are just as much the children of the fallen angels as we are the children of God. God’s plan is to reclaim us, and everything around us, by converting the matter part of our being back into spirit. This will not be done overnight but over a period of many years. This is necessary in order to give all beings a chance to decide to be part of the change or die because they can’t live in a transformed world. This process has started. Global warming is part of it. Changes in the sun are part of it. All the stars are changing. All of the physical universe is changing. We should all be changing with it. Better yet, we should all be helping to make the Divine Plan happen as soon as possible.

Orpheus

Orpheus, Eurydice and the Orphic Mysteries

“Orpheus, the Thracian bard, the great initiator of the Greeks, ceased to be known as a man and was celebrated as a divinity several centuries before the Christian era. ‘As to Orpheus himself,’ writes Thomas Taylor, ‘scarcely a vestige of his life is to be found amongst the immense ruin of time. …

“Orpheus was founder of the Grecian mythological system which he used as the medium for the promulgation of his philosophical doctrines. The origin of his philosophy is uncertain. He may have got it from the Brahmans, there being legends to the effect that he got it from a Hindu. … Orpheus was initiated into the Egyptian Mysteries, from which he secured extensive knowledge of magic, astrology, sorcery, and medicine. The Mysteries of the Cabiri at Samothrace were also conferred upon him, and these undoubtedly contributed to his knowledge of medicine and music.

“The romance of Orpheus and Eurydice is one of the tragic episodes of Greek mythology and apparently constitutes the outstanding feature of the Orphic rites.” ~Manly P. Hall

The Myth of Orpheus and Eurydice

According to the tale, Eurydice, while trying to escape from a would-be rapist, was bitten by a poisonous snake on the heel of her foot, and died. Orpheus went to the underworld and convinced Pluto (Hades) to release her. But Hades put a condition on it. Orpheus had to return to the realm of the living without once looking back. If he did, Eurydice could follow. But Orpheus became fearful that she wasn’t behind him and turned around to see. With a cry of dismay, she was pulled back to the underworld.

The Symbology of The Myth of Orpheus and Eurydice

There is much spiritual symbology in this tale, and that is the point. Such tales are rarely if ever, intended to be taken literally. It is the symbology of it that matters.

First, we have a very obvious one. Orpheus let his fear get control of him. As a result, he failed in his quest. Someone needs to explain this to the followers of Trumpery. If you let your fear take control of you, you make bad choices and fail in your quests. Wise people have known this for many centuries. Fools refuse to listen.

The heel is often a symbol of moving forward. Being bitten by a poisonous snake probably represents that Eurydice took some false advice, perhaps from a being of darkness, and went to her death while thinking she was moving forward. We can see this as a warning to be careful who we take advice from.

While many would assume the land of the living to be the material world, it is more likely to mean the spiritual world where every being lives forever. So Eurydice became materialistic (another interpretation of the snake) and therefore was trapped in the realm of matter.

The whole story is a warning to not let our fears of the unknown—the spiritual realm—prevent us from developing our spiritual self. Also, to not cling to the temporary things of matter. Those who cling to matter become trapped in it. Those who seek higher realms can reach them if they know what they are doing and are not following a false teacher.

Man to God

We should take careful note of what Mr. Hall says about Orpheus being a man who ceased to be a man and became a god in the eyes of the Greeks. This is not something limited to the ancient Greeks. It is the same thing that was done with Jesus and Buddha. Too often people can’t understand the greatness of truly awakened masters so think they must be gods.

Orphic Mysteries

There is more to the Orphic mysteries than just the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Details of the group are scarce. It is believed that they influenced the Pythagoreans and Platonists, so we can get some idea from those philosophies. What is known is that the Orphic views included the idea that the soul was divine and immortal. They also practiced methods that were supposed to release them from being trapped in materialism and aid them in communicating with God. Since Orpheus was known as a musician and is depicted with a lyre, we can assume that music was used in their methods of awakening the spirit and soul. This was also true of the Pythagoreans as I’ve previously covered in this blog.

Christ Consciousness

Christ Consciousness and the Spiritual Sun

“It is imperative that human beings regain our reverence of the Christ consciousness, at least part of which is the Sun and the light coming from the Sun. We need to turn ourselves away from darkness and toward the Light of Christ again in every way that we can. One thing the Father God has expressed to me is that “time is short”; I don’t know how long that is in God’s years, but it was made clear to me that dark spiritual forces are doing everything they can to overrun the positive, loving nature of Christ, whose body contains the Sun and the Light emanating from it. Most of the time we take the daytime and sunlight for granted, and things like moon phases and eclipses may seem somehow exotic and interesting to us. However, the moon has no light and can only reflect, and astronomic bodies that have no light have nowhere near the loving nature of our star, apparently; though some are benevolent, many are not. It is a mistake to worship any planet or planetary satellite. …

“I only know that Christ and God are in charge of things, loving humanity and seeking to guide us during our soul’s journey on this planet, hopefully back to the heavenly realms to be with them after we pass from this life. They are the guides that humanity should seek to follow.” ~Kerry Wells

Reverence of Christ Consciousness

It is interesting that Ms. Wells says we need reverence of Christ Consciousness. She doesn’t say Christ or Jesus, although she often refers to both, but Christ Consciousness. It is that highest level of consciousness that we need to revere and seek for ourselves, not worship of Jesus or Christ. Christ is the source of Christ Consciousness and Jesus achieved that level of awareness and became a Christ. Nonetheless, we should not worship Jesus or Christ, but instead, seek to achieve higher levels of consciousness until we also achieve that level.

Sun and Sunlight

In a sense, it is true that Christ Consciousness can be found in the sun. More specifically, it can be found in the light of the spiritual sun. Of course, Christ Consciousness can be found everywhere, but just as with a furnace that heats the whole house, there are always locations that it heats better than others. Since all higher levels of consciousness are associated with spiritual light, it is only logical that concentrated sources of spiritual light are the best sources of Christ Consciousness. Our spiritual sun, the spirit of our material sun, is one such source.

Why is that important to you? It’s important because if we want to raise our own consciousness level, we should turn to that light as the best source of the energy needed to make that happen. It is also this light that awakens the spirit and soul. We need to awaken the spirit and soul because the highest levels of consciousness can only be achieved by an awakened soul, not by the brain-mind.

Turn from Darkness

It is good to turn to the light. But it is also important to turn away from darkness. This, however, does not mean what most people think it does. It doesn’t mean we should not go out at night. It doesn’t mean we must avoid walking in the shadows. It means we need to avoid those things associated with darkness. Anger, jealousy, and greed are things of darkness. Materialism is a concept of darkness. This does not mean that we cannot have material possessions. It means that we can’t be owned by material possessions.

Most will say that they are not owned by their possessions. That is an understandable attitude. But it isn’t always true. If you refuse to evacuate your home when a fire or storm is approaching, you are owned by possessions. If you stand in line for three days to get the latest cellphone model, you are owned by possessions. When you can let go of things with little regret, you are not owned by them.

Time is Short

Yes, time is short. The so-called End Times have started. Likewise, the Day of Judgment. But as Wells correctly notes, this is all in God’s time, not human time. The Day of Judgment and the End Times are not measured in Earth days. They may take several decades, or even a century or more. But since we don’t know, we should operate as if it could be over any day. That means we should not put off awakening and developing our spiritual faculties until it is convenient, or until we are old and ready to die. And that doesn’t mean just pretending you have awakened those faculties, but actually doing it. Pretense doesn’t work in the realm of God.

The Moon Has No Light

Again, Ms. Wells has it right. It always amazes me when I read posts in spiritual groups on social media that someone is looking forward to a full moon, or a harvest moon, or some other special moon, so they can recharge their crystals, or themselves. The moon has no light of its own. It is only reflecting sunlight and doing that poorly. It isn’t, after all, a highly polished mirror. So why deal with a poor reflection of sunlight when you can turn to the sun and get it full strength? And the moon reflects little, if any, spiritual light. That makes it worthless for gaining spiritual energy. That makes it worthless for gaining Christ Consciousness.

sin must die

Sin Must Die to Allow Enlightenment

“Sin must die in the Will of the Soul, or else there can be no vision of God. For the earthly Will, in sin and the wrathful nature, shall not see God. It is only the regenerated Nature, the inward Man, that is capable of the Divine Vision or enjoyment. The Soul must put on the the spirit and flesh of Christ; it cannot inherit the Kingdom of God in this earthly tabernacle. For the kingdom of sin hangs to it outwardly, which must putrify in the Earth, and rise again in new power.

“Hypocrisy, Flattery, and verbal Forgiveness avail nothing. We must be children, not by outward imputation, but by being born of God from within, which is resigned in and to God. …

“Flattery of ourselves by saying that Christ has paid the ransom and made satisfaction for our sins, and that He died for our sins, is a false and vain comfort, if we also do not die from sin in Him, and put on His merit, in new obedience, and live therein.” ~Jacob Boehme

Sin Must Die

Yes, sin must die if we are to grow spiritually. But what do we consider sin? Some think of crime more than sin. They think of murder, rape, robbery, and so on as sin. While such crimes are sins, just avoiding criminal behavior is not enough. We have to live according to the Law of God. But to do that, we must know the Law of God. Because our souls lie dormant until we make an effort to awaken them, we don’t have that direct connection with the worlds of spirit. Without that connection, we are ignorant of such things. That ignorance is the only real sin.

We don’t actually know God, we know only opinions of God passed on to us from others, who in turn learned from others, and on and on. The true Law of God is not known to us, either. We know only the opinions of men on what God’s Law is. And when we have a spiritual awakening, we find that those opinions are mostly false, misleading, or incomplete. Sin must die, and we must awaken to make that happen.

Earthly Will

Many will assume that the “earthly will” that Boeme is talking about is the ego. I suppose that depends on your definition of ego, but for the generally accepted definition of it, that is not what he means. Ego is the “I”. It is our desire to accomplish. But there are all kinds of accomplishments. A materialistic ego is an earthly will, a spiritual one is not. The difference is the goals of the ego. So the idea is to turn the ego away from greed and materialism to spiritual goals, not to destroy or suppress it. With no ego, you have no desire to accomplish anything. God’s Army of Light needs to be made up of those who are active participants in the Great Plan, not pieces of driftwood floating with the tides.

Regenerated Nature

What is the regenerated nature of man? It is the awakened spirit and soul. It is our true nature, our permanent nature. It is free of all sin, which is why sin must die to have it.

Many today are confused about this. They think simply because they have recognized materialism as a failed system, they are awakened. But that is only the first step in the process of awakening. Complete awakening is much more. One way to understand is to look at a few examples.

Awakened Masters

There are not many truly awakened people, and even fewer masters who are completely awakened. They don’t have to be told that sin must die, they just know it. Some of them are well known religious leaders and founders. That includes Jesus and Buddha. Others are recognized as saints, prophets, or spiritual teachers. This group includes St. Francis of Assisi who, after being awakened while watching a sunrise, starting calling all beings his brothers and sisters. I believe he did that because he could actually see them as spirits rather than the illusion of matter. Another is Jacob (or Jakob) Boehme quoted above. He had his awakening when the sun reflected off a shiny metal bowl and struck him in the eyes. But don’t get the idea that reflecting the sun off a metal bowl will bring an awakening to anyone. We do need to take in light from the spiritual sun to awaken. But the awakening will happen only to those in whom sin is gone. So sin must die first. Or at least be reduced to the point where it is minimal. That also means we must rid ourselves of false beliefs. Those beliefs block us from the truth. John of Ruysbroeck and Biensa Douno are others who awakened through the light of the spiritual sun.

Verbal Flattery and Forgiveness

We are taught that spiritual and religious people should forgive. We are also taught to compliment others. So why does Boehme say that verbal flattery and forgiveness is wrong? He is saying that because such things are good to say only if they are what we actually believe. If we compliment someone by saying something we don’t actually believe, it isn’t a true compliment. Likewise, if we verbally forgive a person, but don’t feel forgiveness in our hearts, it is false. If we don’t feel it, we shouldn’t say it. Just be quiet, or say something neutral. And if you compliment or forgive someone with the goal of getting something from them, you have not learned that sin must die and you need more practice or training.
