Transmute into Good: Man, Earth, Moon and Sun

“It was taught in Manichism that from our age onward the souls of men would begin to transmute into good the evil which will manifest in full force in the sixth epoch. In other words: human souls must be strong enough to bring good out of evil by a process of spiritual alchemy.
“When the Earth begins to recapitulate the previous phases of its evolution, there will first be a reunion with the Moon, and then of this Earth with the Sun. The reunion with the Moon will mark the culminating point of evil on the Earth; the reunion with the sun will signify, on the other hand, the advent of happiness the reign of the ‘elect.’” ~Rudolf Steiner

“A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was with child . . . .” — Revelation 12:1-2

Transmute Evil

Manichism is one of many mystery schools and spiritual schools that teach that we must “transmute” into good the evil within us and around us. It is not an easy task, but it is doable and worth doing. But transmuting is changing the thing, not destroying it.

We often see pictures of the war between dark and light with angels killing demons of darkness. This might be an acceptable allegory, but is far from the truth. Angels and beings of light will not kill devils and demons. They will transmute them as Steiner says. Or more accurately, they will help them to transmute themselves. We all must do the same within ourselves.

Being part spirit, we are creations of God and have a divine Soul. But being material as well, we are also children of the fallen angels and have that evil within us. This evil may manifest in murder, rape, plunder, and so on. In most cases, however, it will be milder. It will be in the sin of greed, which is taking more than we actually need, thereby depriving others of their fair share of the bounty of nature. It may manifest as lying, especially when such lying benefits us to the detriment of others. It may simply manifest as indifference to the suffering of others. All of those are part of the evil that is within us because we are beings of matter. But we are also spiritual.

The Power to Transmute

We can transmute ourselves with the use of our spirits and soul. First, however, they must be awakened. That doesn’t mean simply declaring that we have awakened them, it must actually be done. That awakening happens when we expose them to the Light of the Spiritual Sun. Scientists today understand that the physical universe is a hologram made entirely of light. It is logical then that great sources of light like the sun have the power to greatly affect that universe. And spiritual sources of light have the power to awaken and nourish our spiritual faculties. Continue reading “Transmute into Good: Man, Earth, Moon and Sun”

Devil's Night, Monad and duad War Internal

Devil’s Night and Day of Light

“As in a gloomy black night a fierce wind blows, and stirs and searches and shakes all the plants and seeds, so when man falls under the power of the darkness of the devil’s night, and is in night and darkness, he is agitated by that dreadful wind of sin that blows, and is shaken and stirred, and searched through all his nature, his soul, his thoughts, his understanding; and all the limbs of his body are shaken, and no member of either soul or body escapes free and immune from the sin that dwelleth in us.

“In like manner there is a day of light and a divine wind of the Holy Ghost, which blows and refreshes the souls that are in the day of the light of God. It penetrates all the substance of the soul and its thoughts, and all the being and all the members of the body, refreshing and resting them with a divine, unspeakable rest. This is what the apostle declared when he said, We are not children of the night or of darkness, for ye are all the sons of light and the sons of day.

“And as yonder, in the state of error, the old man put on man as a complete whole, and wears the garment of the kingdom of darkness, the garment of blasphemy, unbelief, unconcern, vainglory, pride, avarice, lust, and all the other trappings of the kingdom of darkness …ragged, unclean, and abominable; … The Lord has clothed them with the clothing of the kingdom of ineffable light, the clothing of faith, hope, charity, of joy, peace, goodness, kindness, and all the other divine and living clothing of the light of life.” ~St. Macarius the Egyptian

Devil’s Night

We may not like to admit it, but we are all a part of the Devil’s Night. The realm of matter being the creation of the fallen angels, everything in it is, to some degree, under their control. Our brain-mind is attuned to this dimension and will be more likely to hear the dark ones speak to us than the angels.

Some of the things that make this the Devil’s Realm and the Devil’s Night include death, disease, greed, hatred, and jealousy. The need to kill and eat other life forms to survive is the mark of the Devil’s Night. Those of God live only on spiritual light (but don’t try to do that while you are trapped in a physical body).

Disease is another one. Many question why God would create such things. The answer is that he didn’t. The things that cause disease are entirely the creations of the Devil’s Night. And mental conditions like worry and shame that weaken our immune system and let the disease agents in re also Satan’s work. The good news is that there is another side to the coin. Everlasting Illumination of the Reborn Initiate

“The impressions received in moments of illumination are everlasting. They fill the spirit with a glorified splendor. …
“When the body of your brother lay enwrapped within the Womb of Rebirth, his spirit was carried out on the wings of a serif and became lost in a sphere beyond understanding. … Then, like a rolling of distant thunder, there as a swelling sound, and there came an overdazzling light. It grew steadily more brilliant until your brother saw a beautiful form of divine glory arrayed in a splendor beyond all earthly bounds. The cumbersome words of Earth cannot do justice to what your brother wishes to describe. … Words are wholly inadequate symbols.” ~The Kolbrin Bible (SOF:2:28-29)

Everlasting Illumination

Having witnessed a rare event is not something we easily forget. Since true illumination is very rare these days, it is definitely something we don’t forget when it happens. But even beyond that, we are changed by it. That change makes it impossible to forget. It is now a part of us and we a part of it. And since it is our destiny to become illuminated and fully spiritual again, it makes sense that once it happens, it is everlasting.

Womb of Rebirth

Don’t confuse this with the idea of reincarnation. This is a spiritual rebirth that brings everlasting illumination, not a physical one. We get one lifetime in a physical body, so make good use of it. This rebirth happens when we awaken our spirit and soul with the light of the spiritual sun.

I don’t understand what the author of the quote meant when he said “carried on the wings of a serif”. The only definition I can find for “serif” is that it is a little line on letters in certain fonts. But what he is saying in the complete sentence is more understandable. The initiate is raised spiritually into a realm of spirit. He reaches a realm of blinding white light which is pure spirit.

Divine Glory

While the quote says the initiate sees a “beautiful form of divine glory,” it is more accurate to say he experiences the divine glory. It isn’t seeing as much as it is becoming part of that Divine Glory and knowing what God and the Angels know. Naturally, such an experience produces everlasting illumination.

Inadequate Words

I’ve mentioned this before, but it is worth repeating. One reason why a person who has been truly illuminated cannot describe it to another is that it is something that must be experienced. Another reason is simply that human languages are incapable of describing it. It can only be approximated, or described in allegorical terms. Because of this, many get the wrong idea of what to expect if they have listed to a written or spoken description of the experience. Such descriptions are useful, but we must understand that they are partial and inaccurate because of the limitations of words. So the only way to really know what everlasting illumination is like is to achieve it.

uplifting man, Kindling sun, Divine Sunlight

Uplifting Man with Spiritual Light and Wisdom

“Now we will speak further of the fourth manner of the coming of Christ, uplifting and perfecting a man by inward exercise in the lower part of his being.
“When the sun … enters the sign which is called Virgo, … men began to gather in the those ripe and lasting fruits which can be kept and consumed long afterwards. … In this season, all the work of the sun is perfected and fulfilled.
“So likewise, When Christ the glorious Sun has risen to the zenith in a man’s heart. …

“Now when Christ thus hides Himself, and withdraws the brightness of His shining, … then the man begins to complain. … Sometimes these unhappy men are also deprived of their earthly goods, of friends, of kinsmen; … and at times they fall into sickness, … and some into bodily temptations; or that which is worst of all, temptations of the spirit. … This is the utmost point at which a man can hold his ground without falling into despair.” ~John of Ruysbroeck

Uplifting Man

When Ruysbroeck says that Christ comes into man for “uplifting and perfecting,” he means the Christ Light of the spiritual sun. It is this light which awakens our dormant spiritual faculties. Once awakened, the spirit and the soul seek further enlightenment, which is really just remembering what they were before The Fall. This “uplifting” may be thought of as raising man’s frequencies closer to those of spiritual beings to make it possible for man to communicate with those higher dimensions. The “perfecting” part is the cleaning out from the body and mind old beliefs and concepts that kept us trapped in the low frequencies of the worlds of matter.

Gathering Fruit

Ruysbroeck is telling us that we should gather our fruit when ripe and have a supply available for winter. This is partly a reminder that things happen in cycles. We must be aware of the cycles and work with them rather than against them. In a growth period, we should seek to grow in spiritual strength. When the cycle shifts, we should seek to hold on to what we have gained. Uplifting man does little good if during the down side of a cycle he lets it all get away.

He is also telling us that we should take in more spiritual energy than we need at that moment. When we do our techniques at dawn, we need enough spiritual light to last he day. But we also need to be careful not to get too carried away with taking in excess light. Too much light can result in headaches and irritability That is why we are advised to share some of that light by sending it out to others. That way we don’t get overloaded.
