“I confess I am much disposed to assert the existence of immaterial natures in the world, and to place my own soul in the class of these beings. It will, hereafter, I know not where, or when, yet be proved that the human soul stands even in this life in indissoluble connection with all immaterial natures in the spirit-world, that t reciprocally acts upon these and receives impressions from them.” ~Imanuel Kant
“Words, like nature, half reveal and half conceal the soul within.” ~Alfred Lord Tennyson
“I put my heart and my soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process.” `Vincent Van Gogh
Some people find it hard to accept that we can have a material body, but an immaterial soul. That attitude would make sense if the physical body and the brain-mind were entirely made of matter, but they are not. Even in the most materialistic of us, the body and mind are still partly made up of spirit. And that is a good thing. It makes it possible for us to stop our descent into matter and turn toward the higher worlds of spirit. The immaterial (spiritual) soul makes that possible. So the first task is to awaken the soul which is dormant when we enter the physical realm.
Just as we have a spirit and soul, Nature also has a spiritual side, as does everything in Nature. Animals have spirits. Plants have spirits. Even rocks and rivers have spirits, as Native Americans have long known. And other physical bodies in the material universe also have spirits. The planets, the moons, and the stars all have spirits. The most important to us is the sun. The sun also has a spirit, and that spirit is sending us spiritual light to awaken and nourish our spirits and souls. The immaterial soul needs to be nourished and cared for just as much as the body and mind.
Our soul is connected to all other spiritual beings by what is commonly called the silver thread or the thread of life. Through this connection, all souls share the same truth, the same knowledge. This connection cannot be broken, but if we don’t awaken our souls, it can’t really function for us.
In Cosolargy, we wear a thread around the waist with crystals or gems attached to it. One of the purposes for it is to remind us of these connections between our immaterial soul and all other souls. We need to be reminder so we will keep that connection open and functioning. Just being connected isn’t enough. We have to use that connection to communicate.
Conceal the Soul
Tennyson said words can conceal the soul. That statement would probably mean more if we knew the content in which it was said. It would be more accurate to say that the brain-mind often conceals the souls, and words help it do that. Mostly, that is because our brain has been filled with half-truths and outright nonsense since we were infants. We are taught what our parents were taught and our grandparents. We rarely question most of it. It becomes our beliefs. Those belief block out anything that conflicts with them. That often includes blocking the soul.
While many people believe that we have a soul, few accept that it is dormant and needs to be awakened. Some even believe the soul is but a section of the physical brain. These false beliefs prevent us from connecting our brain-mind with the soul.
While some say that Van Gogh really did go insane, I think the quote should not be taken too literally. What Van Gogh was talking about is that once the immaterial soul has awakened, it should be in charge rather than the material brain-mind. The mind is great for understanding the realm of matter. But matter is only a small part of the multi-dimensional universe. Most of it is spirit, and that is the soul’s realm. So awaken your soul and use it.
