“The path to immortality is hard, and only a few find it. The rest await the great Day when the wheels of the universe shall be stopped and the immortal sparks shall escape from the sheaths of substance. Woe unto those who wait, for they must return again. Unconscious and unknowing, to the seed-ground of the stars, and await a new beginning. Those who are saved by the light of the mystery which I have revealed unto you, … shall return again to the Father who dwelleth in the White Light, and shall deliver themselves up to the Light shall be absorbed into the Light, and in the Light they shall become Powers in God. This is the way of God and is revealed only to them that have wisdom.” ~Hermes
The first sentence of the quote backs up other recent posts so I won’t revisit that subject here. It gets more interesting after that.
The second sentence contains two major allegorical images. First there is the “wheels of the universe” which shall stop in the End Times, which is now. The wheel is symbolic of motion and change, but also that this motion is cyclic in nature. When the wheel stops, the pattern of cycles will end. Those who believe in reincarnation will say that the cycles are the pattern of birth/rebirth, life, then death. That pattern is repeated over and over, they say, until we learn our lesson. There is, however, very little evidence to back up that theory. We see the pattern more as a spirit descending into matter and taking on a material body, the material being lives his life, then dies. He is replaced by another, an entirely different being, not a reincarnation. Which theory you choose to believe is up to you, but it’s my observation that many who believe in reincarnation see little need to get their lives together believing they will get another chance, and another after that. It becomes an excuse for coasting through life.
Hermes says that when the wheel stops, the immortal spark (human soul) will escape. But he ten goes on to warn that the person who has not prepared for this eventuality, will not move forward, move up to a higher dimension, but be forced to return at whatever time in the future the worlds of matter return. Others says that one the wheel stops and matter become spirit again, it will never become matter again and those who refused to change with the universe are abandoned forever. In either case, the best choice is to do our best to be prepared for the change before it happens and don’t wait until you are caught in a flood to decide to learn how to swim.
Hermes then gets more specific and says we are all saved by the “light of the mystery”. What light is he talking about? Not the light of a campfire. Not even the light of the material sun. This Light that returns us to God is a spiritual light and comes to us through the spiritual sun, or, in the present time, the Sun of Righteousness. Sun gazing has been gaining in popularity in recent years and much of it can be traced back to the teachings of the founder of Cosolargy, Gene Savoy. But gazing at the physical sun can only benefit the physical body and what Savoy taught his real followers was to gaze upon the spiritual sun to awaken and nourish the spirit and soul. As Hermes says, those who do will eventually return to the Father and dwell forever in the White Light and become Powers and agents of God. That is the destiny we in Cosolargy seek.
