Scripture: The Gospel of Thomas 50

Jesus said, “If some say to you, ‘Where have you come from?’ say to them,
‘We have come from the Light, where the Light came into being by itself,
established itself, and appeared in an image of Light.’
If they say to you ‘Are you the Light?’ say, ‘We are it’s children,
and we are the chosen of the Living Father.’
If they ask you, ‘What is the evidence of your Father in you?’ tell them,
‘It is motion and rest'”.

The Light referred to here is God,the self created Light, who created Himself and
the image of himself (which may refer to Christ, the first creation, or the Spiritual Sun).
Jesus tells the disciples they are not the Light, they are the children of the Light:
They are not God, they are part of God.  The distinction is important.
The last sentence is saying that life is proof of God because without God there can be no life.
